Seven players of the Turkish club, Aytemiz Alanyaspor were involved in a bus crash, three miles away from the club’s home city of Alanya while on their way back from a game at Kayseirspor.
Unfortunately, 28-year old Czech Republic international, Josef Sural died at the hospital after suffering fatal injuries from the crash.
Hasan Cavusoglu, the chairman of the club claims the crash was caused because the driver fell asleep at the wheel and a second onboard driver was also asleep at the time of the accident.
The seven players had rented the private minibus while the rest of the club’s players and staff travelled on a team bus or on their own.
Tributes have been outpouring from the footballing community for the 28-year old who had 20 caps for his country.
