Thousands in Mozambique are preparing for the imminent floods as the torrential rains have gotten the water levels up, a devastation resulting from the hit of Cyclone Kenneth.
The first set of foods have started trickling in some parts of Pemba, capital of Cabo Delgado province, as reported by AFP.
The rescue team operating there have reported some cases of building collapse in the Natite neighbourhood.
Deborah Nguyen, spokeswoman for the UN World Food programme speaking to newsmen reported the occurrence of heavy rains since Sunday morning around Pemba.
She laments that the weather forecast shows that the rain is expected to last for the next four days, twice that of Cyclone Idai.
Mozambique authorities estimate a total of 200,000 people living in Pemba to be in danger.
Preliminary polls revealed five people have died, and is expected to increase.
