Cyclone Kenneth to reach Mozambique on Thursday

According to weather forecasters, Cyclone Kenneth will hit Mozambique on Thursday.

Characterized by heavy rainfall, strong winds and waves of several metres, the nation is set to suffer yet another devastating natural disaster.

“It’s going to make landfall tomorrow afternoon at Cabo Delgado, on the northeastern coast of Mozambique, and it is going to be a cyclone with wind speeds which could be 140 km per hour (87 miles per hour),” said Jan Vermeulen, from the South African Weather Service.

The southern African nation is yet to recover from the effects of Cyclone Idai, which left over 700 dead, rendered multitudes homeless and left over 1.2 million children prone to Cholera.
