British heavyweight boxer, Kash Ali has been handed a six-month ban and a £10,000 fine by the British Boxing Board of Control for biting David Price during their heavyweight fight in March.
Ali was disqualified in the fifth round of the bout having bitten Price in the torso during a tangle that saw both guys hit the canvas.
Kash had previously bitten Price in the second and third rounds of the contest.
Ali got criticized from several quarters of the boxing world and in the wake of the fight, issued an apology to Price, his family, team and the boxing community.
His trainer Adam Etches, has reacted to the punishment, stating that his ward got off lightly.
He described Ali as a good guy who simply lost his head and has to serve his time.
Adam Etches expressed his optimism for Ali learning from this experience and getting back to the ring in winning ways.
