Nigeria’s House of Representatives wants the management of new Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG ventures to give details of how 1.2 billion dollars was spent on the execution of the Brass Liquefied Natural Gas project.

This is part of an on-going investigation being conducted by the House on alleged fraud in the implementation and expenditure of 22-billion dollar Brass Liquefied Natural Gas project fund.

The Brass LNG project was set-up in 2003 with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, controlling 59% equity.

The Committee said given such huge Federal Government investment in the Brass LNG the alleged mismanagement of fund in the execution of the project should not be swept under the carpet.

The General Manager of the new Liquefied Natural Gas Venture, Ahmed Dikko told the Committee that the pull out of key partners in the project resulted in more expenses.

The Committee, therefore, demanded details of the 1.2 billion dollars which the management has accepted to have spent on the project.
