The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Judiciary, Aminu Shagari, has urged the executive arm of government to ensure prompt release of budgetary allocations for the judiciary.
Shagari, who made the plea during the 2019 budget defence of judiciary parastatals on Monday, pleaded that the funds appropriated should be judiciously utilized if eventually released.
The Committee Chairman noted that the judiciary has received about 110 billion Naira in budgetary allocation in the last two years, which he described as unprecedented since the return of democratic rule.
The Committee expressed the hope that the implementation of the 2019 budget would be better than the previous years.
