The Nigerian government has threatened to withdraw the licence of private universities that violate laid down regulations and establishment acts.
The threat was issued at a two- day national summit on private universities on Monday.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Sonny Echonu.
Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, Abubakar Rasheed, Registrar Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede and former Rivers State Governor, Peter Odili challenged the institutions on quality service delivery.
