Jumia Technologies, a pan-african Technology company has been listed yesterday on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

This makes Jumia the first ever African company to make it to the World’s Largest Stock Exchange Platform.

Jumia’s IPO raised a total of $196 million, with a share surge of more than 75% on it’s first day of trading.

Jumia was founded in Lagos in 2012 and has over 4 million customers in over 14 African countries.

Jumia Nigeria’s CEO, Juliet Anammah was present to ring the ceremonial bell when the Company’s stock began trading on the NYSE floor.
