Mom taking her daughter to school, dies as their car plunges into river

A Lexus Jeep, on Sunday, plunged into the river on the Ijebu-Ode/Benin Expressway, Ogun State, killing a woman and injuring her daughter.

The Public Relations Officer of Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the accident occurred around 2:45 p.m. and was caused by speeding.

The woman was taking her daughter back to school. As a result of excessive speeding, the woman lost control of the vehicle and plunged into the river. The mom lost her life, while the daughter sustained injuries,” he said.
