The Ivorian does not believe fines and stadium closures are sufficient measures to tackle racism as it has not curbed the shameful discrimination.

Yaya Toure was the subject of racist chanting on several occasions from his days at Barcelona to Manchester City, the most notable one being a UEFA Champions League match against CSKA Moscow in 2013 while playing for Manchester City.

Although he did not state what tougher measures football governing bodies should put in place in tackling racism, Yaya Toure asserts that UEFA and FIFA are not doing enough to curb the discriminatory menace.
