Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou has tendered a quit notice with strong signals he is ready to leave office at his term of office expiration in 2021.

Niger’s ruling party, Nigerian Party for Democracy and Socialism, PNDS, in a move to retain power at the 2021 polls have adopted the interior minister, Mohamed Bazoum as its next presidential candidate.
