Health officials in Mozambique report that the number of cholera cases have risen from 5 to 139 in one day.
This is said to be an aftermath of the devastation left by Cyclone Idai.
The Cholera disease is a communicable bacterial infection which can spread by one’s access to contaminated food and water.
Common symptoms include severe diarrhea which leads to dehydration and ultimately death if medical attention is not sought in a timely manner.
The World Health Organization mentioned earlier that it would send 900,000 doses of vaccines to immunize against Cholera in the region.
Also, a sensitization campaign for cholera prevention to the region has been enacted by mounting loudspeakers for information dissemination via radio
