Famous for being called the ‘Iron Lady’, the Eiffel Tower designed by Gustave Eiffel, a Parisian Engineer and built for the 1889 Universal Exhibition marked its 130th anniversary yesterday.

The Eiffel tower has since then undergone many renovations to become what it is now, a cpmplex network of projectors and a worthy inspiration for other cities to highlight their monuments

To commemorate the Earth Hour anniversary, Parisians turned off the lights on the tower to mark this year’s Earth Hour. The Earth Hour is organized by the WWF to create awareness on climate change and manmade threats turns off the lights on about 200 such landmarks around the globe for this year’s edition
