In the Kabarole District of Kasenda, a village in Uganda, a 17-year-old Amina has found a unique way to ensure she goes to school.
Amina, a girl in the SS3 class equivalent in Nigeria has taken to bricklaying with the rest of her family so she can save enough funds to send herself through school.
Amina attests to have endured a lot of stigma from her peers to make schooling a reality as well as physical strain on her body due to the labour required to lay bricks whilst bending over
Many elderly folks have, however, encouraged her that she would reap the fruits of her labour. Amina also encourages other girls to work hard to achieve their goals.
