The Burundian Government has amidst major backlash released the 7 school girls who were detained for scribbling on the President’s face on Textbook covers.
Their arrests led to a social media campaign tagged #FreeOurGirls with several other posting on social media platforms different versions of the President’s face in wigs and other funny looking images.
Lewis Mudge has charged the authorities to focus rather on capturing offenders of serious rights violations as opposed to teenage girls doodles on textbooks
