The winner of the March 12th 2019 imo state governorship election and Governor-elect, Chukwuemeka Ihedioha has received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission.
National Commissioner in charge of Imo, Abia and Ebonyi states, Professor Okey Obiano, presented the certificate to him at a ceremony held at the state’s INEC office in Owerri, the state capital.
Ihedioha of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, won the governorship election, defeating his closest rival, the candidate of the Action Alliance, Uche Nwosu.
Speaking after receiving the certificate, Ihedioha thanked the people for their support before and during the governorship election, promising not to disappoint the people of the state who gave him the mandate governorship election.
The former House of Representative Member also commended the electoral body for doing what he described as an excellent job in the conduct of the seamless, free, fair, credible and violence-free, election.
