At least 6 states in the U.S have recalled Avocado grown in California due to a foodborne bacteria known as listeria which is usually contacted by consuming unpasteurized milk or poorly cooked meat.
The States include North Carolina, Wisconsin, Arizona, Florida New Hampshire and Mexico. A California based company Henry Avocado Corp started the recall as a preventive measure based on samples that tested positive to the Bacteria
The symptoms of Listeria range from high fever to stiffness and can deteriorate to Diarrhea and abdominal pain.
