The Defence Headquarters has said it will arrest anyone who attempts to disrupt Saturday’s run-offs.
The acting Director, Defence Information, Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, who spoke with reporters in Abuja, said the military and police were working together to quote “guarantee a secure environment for Nigerians to exercise their civic rights.”
The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Abayomi Olonisakin, said the military is conducting no fewer than seven major operations nationwide to ensure peace in the country.
He stated this in Abuja while receiving the United Kingdom’s Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Nicholas Carter, and his French counterpart, Gen Francois Lecointre, in Abuja on Friday.
