Lagos ranks among World’s top 10 Cheapest Cities (List)

Nigeria’s commercial centre, Lagos state has been ranked as one of the 10 cheapest cities in the world.

The survey was conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit, which compared the cost of over 150 items including food, rent, clothing, cars among others in 133 cities.

The survey also tracked the changes in prices of commodities in these cities, benchmarking them with the corresponding costs in New York.

Here’s the list for the world’s top 10 cheapest cities.

  • 3. Tashkent (Uzbekistan)
  • 4. Almaty (Kazakhstan)
  • 5. Bangalore (India)
  • 6. Karachi (Pakistan)
  • 6. Lagos (Nigeria)
  • 7. Buenos Aires (Argentina)
  • 7. Chennai (India)
  • 8. New Delhi (India)

Inversely, Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore tied as the world’s most expensive cities, with the highest cost of living.
