The Nigerian government says all is now set to engage the private sector in the generation of 30 megawatts of electricity from the Guarara Dam in Kaduna State.
The Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, made this known when he received the business certificate compliance of 30 megawatts Guarara Hydropower Dam from the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission.
The Director General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, Chidi Izuwah, said the certificate opens the doors for the signing and award of agreements in line with international best practices.
The business certificate will be presented to the Federal Executive Council with the companies already being considered as preferred bidders.
The Guarara Dam is a multipurpose facility for hydropower generation, irrigation, and tourism development.
