The Federal Government has expressed its commitment to improving the current health budget to meet the needs of basic health coverage.
The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udoma, at a workshop in Abuja said despite the fall in the government revenue from ten point zero-seven trillion naira in two thousand and fourteen to five point six-eight trillion naira in two thousand and fifteen, government has consistently increased allocations for health in the yearly budget to meet its national health obligations.
Mr. Udoma, while complaining that current immunization rate still remains low, noted that the government will do all it can to change the status quo and also improve on current abysmal levels of maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate.
