Referee Mike Dean’s report detailed the feisty exchange both men had, with Dean asking Pochettino to explain what he meant by “you know what you are” all to no avail.
His report also detailed how Pochettino aggressively pointed his finger just a few inches from his face and how Pochettino was waiting for him at the top of the stairs, after leaving the pitch.
The availability of this FA report to the public may not be unconnected to the perceived double standards by the FA to erring managers who confront referees, considering Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp committed a similar offence and only got a huge fine while Mauricio Pochettino received a two-match ban.
