A Lawsuit filed by the U.S Women’s National Soccer Team against the Federation which allegedly practices gender based discriminations in wages and conditions has received the support of Serena Williams and other notable Tennis players.

28 Members of the Soccer team appeared in Los Angeles yesterday, on International Women’s Day, as plantiffs in a Federal Court.

Serena disclosed that the only way women were able to break out of the mould in Tennis was because some pioneers stood their grounds for the pay equality in the 1970’s and she believes it’s time for that to happen in Soccer.

Sloane Stephens, Billie Jean King a 75 year old, 12 times Grand Slam singles titles winner also showed support via social media with many expressing hopes that they win.

The lawsuit details years of institutionalized gender discrimination, travel & medical conditions as well as promotions are less favourable for women than men.
