The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Lagos state has come out to debunk allegations that the commission was yet to pay the ad hoc staff during the Presidential election.

INEC Spokesman Olufemi Akinbiyi, said corps members who are yet to receive an alert of payment for the work done during the presidential election were having issues with their account.

“Each corps member is entitled to ₦13,000 during the Presidential and Governorship election making a total of ₦26,000. Each of them has received their ₦4,500 training allowances,”.

Mr. Akinbiyi said some local government chairmen and politicians promised to give corps members money in their local governments which they have not fulfilled and that is why some of them were protesting.
