Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Friday that China is willing to build a closer community of shared future with Africa.
Mr. Yi made the remarks at a press conference on the side-lines of the annual session of the National People’s Congress.
The friendship between Chinese and African people goes back to ancient times, Wang said, and the relationship between the two sides is currently in the best shape in history.
China is willing to work with African countries to further promote mutually beneficial cooperation, he said.
The success of China-Africa cooperation has drawn “conspiracy theories” to discredit the two sides’ relationship, Wang noted but added “we have a high degree of trust, as China-Africa friendship was tested by time”.
