Jordi Alba agrees new Barcelona five-year deal with £428m buyout clause

Barcelona has reached an agreement with Spanish defender, Jordi Alba over a new five-year deal, with a buyout clause worth £428m.

The left-back’s current deal was due to expire in June 2020, with the Catalan giant keen on tying him down on a new long term deal.

The 29-year old has played a pivotal role in Barcelona’s successes over the years, since joining in 2012 from Valencia.

Jordi Alba has dished out 20 assists to Lionel Messi since they started playing together.

He has played 36 matches for Barcelona in all competitions this season.
