The one-week postponement of the presidential and National Assembly elections may have provided a window of opportunity for Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, to broker peace between the two factions in the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State.
The factional leader of the APC in the state, Senator Kabir Marafa, who met with Professor Osinbajo on Tuesday, said the discussions at the meeting focused on the political impasse in the state.
The APC in Zamfara State has been embroiled in a dispute over the party’s primaries in the state, which led to uncertainties about the participation of the party’s candidates in the governorship, National Assembly, and state assembly elections in the state.
