The postponed elections has proved to have a significant effect on business arenas, such as the two major ports in Lagos, Apapa and Tin Can Island.

The ports were met with an unusual decorum, an after effect of the postponed election as freight forwarders put the losses of the logistics sector at over $100m.

According to the Zonal Coordinator, Save Nigeria Freight Forwarders, Dr Osita Chukwu, oprations were put on hold at the ports on Saturday and ships did not berth while noting that even fishing vessels were not allowed to operate at the creeks.

He said , most of them cannot come back to the ports because they cannot come back and go back again to vote on February 23.”
