Some concerned Niger Deltans have advocated for a clear cut strategy by the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, in order to facilitate socio-economic development of the oil-rich region.
The call is coming barely weeks after an acting management team was appointed by the presidency to oversee the affairs of the NDDC.
The NDDC is a creation of an act of parliament to midwife development of the oil-rich Niger Delta region, but agitations over years amongst the people is that much is yet to be achieved.
While the concerns are unrelenting, some stakeholders want the new NDDC management team to live above board.
To others, issues of unnecessary demands should be a thing of the past, to enable the Commission to deliver on its mandate.
They are also of the opinion that Niger Deltans must eschew violence in the region, the much-anticipated socio-economic development would be on the fast lane.
Stakeholders task NDDC on clear cut socio-economic strategy.
