Simone Biles and Novak Djokovic carted home the top gongs at the 2019 Laureus World Sports Awards.

American gymnast Biles, who won four gold medals, one silver and one bronze at the 2018 Gymnastics World Championship was named the Sportswoman of the Year while Serbian tennis great, Djokovic won the Sportsman of the Year after winning the US Open and Wimbledon in a resurgent year. 

Tennis world number one, Naomi Osaka went home with the Breakthrough of the Year award while golfer Tiger Woods was awarded the Comeback of the Year gong.

Kenyan marathon runner, Eliud Kipchoge who set the world marathon record in Berlin won the Exceptional Achievement Award while World Cup winners, France won the Team of the Year.

American skier, Lindsey Vonn received the Spirit of Sport Award while Arsenal’s former coach, Arsene Wenger received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
