4 ndlea officers killed at ondo checkpoint

The Ondo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has confirmed the killing of four of its officers by yet to be identified gunmen.

The four officers were killed in the line of duty at a checkpoint along Ikaro road in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of the state.

The NDLEA Commander in the state, Haruna Dagara, confirmed that the officers were five at the checkpoint, but only one of them escaped, while their rifles were taken away.

He said they suspect those involved in illicit drug activities in the state to be behind the attack, based on the nature of the killing of the officers.

Dagara said the development will not deter the agency from discharging its duties.

The four officers of the NDLEA were killed on Sunday evening.
