At a meeting in Sokoto discussing challenges faced by herdsmen
and a way forward. Cattle rearers or herdsmen as popularly called have
revealed the unbearable scenario they currently face.
The
Coalition of Fulani Herdsmen has reported that at least 3.7 Million Cows
have been either stolen, killed or sold to pay ransom for their loved
ones.
They also noted the loss of 2500 Fulani people that died
within the last 3 years. They also dutifully noted that no single herder
had benefitted from the Trader Moni scheme the current administration
has brought forward.
