An announcement is expected this weekend, from the camp of unified world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, as negotiations are ongoing with a three-man shortlist of opponents for his next title fight.
After ruling out a unification fight with Deontay Wilder earlier this week due to a breakdown in talks, Eddie Hearn who promotes Joshua disclosed offers have been made to the trio of Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Jarrell Miller.
A blockbuster British rivalry with Tyson Fury looks good on the cards, just as a rematch with Dillian Whyte, whom Joshua knocked out in the 7th round in 2015.
A fight with Jarrell Miller will be staged in the US, which will be AJ’s first fight in the States and a massive opportunity to introduce him to the ‘boxing world’ but it looks less likely considering Miller is not ranked among the top heavyweights.
With Tyson Fury likely to fancy a rematch with Deontay Wilder ahead of a British score with Joshua, the rematch with Whyte is looking likely to be Anthony Joshua’s next fight, which will be staged at Wembley on the 13th of April, 2019.
