The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has called on the people of Jigawa State not to allow themselves to be deceived by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, that is working hard to divide Nigerians along ethnic and religious lines.
Atiku made the call while addressing a mammoth crowd at the PDP presidential campaign rally in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital on Monday.
Abubakar, whose mother is from Dutse, arrived Dutse International Airport where he was received by a large crowd.
The PDP campaign train later moved to the palace of the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Mohammadu Sanusi, to pay homage to the royal father.
Atiku, who rode in an open caravan to the venue of the rally, spoke to the people in Hausa and Fulfude language to assure them of his readiness to complete Hadejia Dam to boost agriculture in the state.
The former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, while calling on the people to vote PDP at all levels, also told the presidential candidate not to forget Jigawa State when he comes to power.
The National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, used the rally to thank the people of Jigawa State for the warm reception accorded the party.
The rally was attended by a large number of party faithful and other lovers of the PDP presidential candidate.
