Anambra Voters Rush To Verify Their Names On Voters Register

Days after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, published the voters’ register, prospective voters in Anambra State, South East Nigeria have been trooping to the various points to crosscheck their names.

They are however calling on the electoral umpire to ensure that every vote cast counts in the coming elections.

The total number of registered voters for Anambra State in the southeastern region of Nigeria as published by the INEC is put at four million, four hundred and forty-seven thousand, nine hundred and ninety-six.

Now, the voters are busy cross-checking every single detail against their names on the displayed register.

This is not without complaints as some of the people could not find their names on the register.

But, the INEC Head of Voter Education and Publicity in Anambra State, Leo Nkedife said such complaints will be addressed before the election date.

The electoral body is confident that it will deliver free, fair, and credible elections that will be of best practice.
