There seems to be an end to the two-year leadership crisis that has been rocking the Ondo State Football Association, following the intervention of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Leading a delegation to resolve the disagreement in the state’s football association, NFF’s first Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi, said it was imperative for football stakeholders to always put the interest of the round leather game first.

The delegation, which also included the Chairman of Chairmen of State, Ibrahim Gusau, also reinstated the suspended vice chairman of the state’s football association, Dele Ologbese, two years after his suspension by the Chairman, Dele Ajayi.

Akinwumi said as coordinator of football in the South-West, NFF statutes must be followed, while football associations in the region must not have factions.

It was, however, resolved that election must be conducted into the board of the state’s football association on or before February 28 while Dele Ajayi remains the legitimate Chairman of the Association.
