Gunmen abduct 2 people in Katsina State

Gunmen have reportedly abducted 20 men from various villages in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.

They were abducted while returning from a wedding ceremony in Kankara late afternoon on December 19, to their separate villages.

The gunmen, reportedly opened fire forcing them to stop, raided them of valuable items and took them to a forest named rogorogo. They eventually released four of the women among them, leaving just the men behind in their cell.

They have since called the villages to demand a ransom of ₦50 million, which was later reduced to ₦40 million. The governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, recently lamented that the state is under siege and no one is safe, including him.

While lamenting, he confirmed this incident amongst others that have happened lately, in the state.
