The FA has charged Southampton striker, Charlie Austin for a gesture he made during the match against Manchester City, which the body deems insulting/abusive.
The incident occurred in the 68th minute of the match as Austin made way for Shane Long at the St Mary’s Stadium. He had been booked in the second half of the encounter and was booed off the field by some supporters when he made the gesture.
The FA has given Austin until 18:00 hours on the 7th of January 2019 to respond to the charge.
