The Metropolitan Police are investigating an incident of assault that saw Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli struck on the head by a plastic bottle during his side’s 2-0 win over Arsenal.
The plastic bottle was thrown from the crowd of the home section in the 73rd minute as Arsenal prepared to take a throw-in.
Alli who had scored earlier to give his side a 2 nil lead, responded to the assault by referencing the scoreline of the game at the time to the fans via a hand gesture.
