Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Kanu Agabi, is proposing the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria on law officers who have attained the positions of director of public prosecution or solicitor general.
Agabi made the proposal at the 2018 Law Officers Annual Conference, held in Abuja on Monday.
It is the third edition of the conference which brings together law officers from all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
Top on the agenda is stock-taking of activities throughout the year while seeking ways to improve services and welfare.
Agabi told the gathering that professionalism should not be compromised despite existing challenges.
The 2018 conference has the theme: law officers as unbiased umpire amidst economic challenges and realities towards the 2019 general elections.
