An early morning fire has destroyed property worth millions of naira at the popular Erekesan market in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
The fire, which occurred on Thursday morning, destroyed about 20 shops of assorted wines, beverages, and house utensils.
Most shop owners could not ascertain the cause of the inferno which started around 2:00 am.
Affected shop owners are counting their losses and called on the government to come to their aid.
