The Confederation of African Football, CAF has reportedly withdrawn the 2019 African Cup of Nations hosting right from Cameroon, but CAF has denied this and they confirmed that an exco meeting is ongoing and VP Amaju Pinnick confirms a decision will be announced soon.

CAF inspectors recently travelled to Cameroon to check security, infrastructure, stadiums, and accommodation, they last hosted the tournament in 1972.

CAF will now give a one-month window, launching a new application procedure where countries interested in hosting the tournament will submit their official bids if Cameroon is stripped of the hosting right.

This will be the second time in recent times that CAF has stripped a country of hosting rights of a continental tourney. Kenya was declared unfit to host the Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) in January this year. Morocco replaced Kenya as hosts.
