Reuben Foster, San Francisco 49ers’ linebacker has been released by his team after he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. Foster had previously had domestic violence charges dropped against him in May but was arrested yesterday at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Tampa, Florida, just before his team’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 24-year old has had a difficult start to the season, having been suspended by the NFL for the first two games of the season for conduct and substance-abuse related offences.

Foster played 16 games for the 49ers but was largely poor in his performances, making 29 tackles in 6 games with no interceptions, fumble recoveries, forces fumbles nor sacks. A short statement released on the San Francisco 49ers’ official Twitter handle simply stated: “The San Francisco 49ers are releasing Reuben Foster.”
