The three-day conference has boasted of gathering world leaders as well as environment-friendly civil society organizations.
The first conference on Sustainable Blue Economy is themed: ‘The Blue Economy and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’.
It is co-hosted by Canada and Japan, having Kenya as the main host.
The Blue Economy focuses on the economic benefit and value realized from the Earth’s coastal and marine environment with respect to preservation, maintenance, and productivity of the marine ecosystem on the basis of clean technologies, renewable energy, and circular material flows.
