Mick McCarthy is set to be unveiled tomorrow as the new Manager of the Republic of Ireland.

It will be the former Irish captain’s second spell at the helm of the team and he is expected to sign a 2.4 million euros two-year contract to succeed Marin O’Neil.

The highlight of his first stint with the Irish national team was reaching the knockout stage of the 2002 World Cup in Korea Japan.

He is expected to take his long-time assistant, Terry Connor along with him and possibly the team’s all-time leading goal scorer, Robbie Keane.

Meanwhile, the Euro 2020 qualification draws holds in Dublin on the 2nd of December where the Irish will know their opponents.
