The Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Kamaldeen Ajibade has disclosed to Justice Halimat Salman of an Ilorin High Court that the principal suspect in the deadly Offa bank robbery, Michael Adikwu has died in police custody.
According to him, the news of the death of the suspects was conveyed to him by the force headquarters of the Nigerian police.
Ajibade also told the court that there would be an amendment to the charges in view of the information about Adikwu’s death, and non-representation of the accused persons by a lawyer.
The Commissioner also urged the court to grant an adjournment to enable his office effect necessary amendments to the charges.
Presiding Judge, in her ruling, Justice Halimat Salman, agreeing with the state Attorney General adjourned the case till November 30.
