Reports have emerged that Barcelona cannot buy any more Liverpool players until 2020, save they are ready to pay a premium of £90m on top of any transfer agreed.
The clause was reportedly negotiated during the record transfer of Philippe Coutinho to the Nou Camp in January and was made by Liverpool’s sporting director, Michael Edwards.
The addition of the clause is to prevent Barcelona from poaching at Liverpool’s squad in the nearest future.
