European Super League: Arsenal want discussions, will not quit PL

Arsenal’s managing director, Vinai Venkatesham has said that the club is willing to be involved in any discussions on a future European Super League but have stated categorically that they will not break away from the Premier League if the new competition is established.

This comes on the heels of Der Spiegel’s revelations that Europe’s biggest clubs are unhappy at having to share European broadcast revenues with the wider football family and are plotting to break away from their respective leagues to form a rival league – the European Super League.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea are English clubs mentioned, among the eleven clubs involved in the plan.
