The department of international relations and co-operation (Dirco) has confirmed that detained Kenyan journalist Muthoki Mumo and her South African colleague Angela Quintal have been given back their passports on Thursday.
The high commissioner of SA in Tanzania‚ Mr. Thami Mseleku‚ has informed the minister of international relations‚ Lindiwe Sisulu‚ that passports of a South African journalist and that of her Kenyan colleague have been returned‚” the department said in a statement.
And according to a relative of Angela Quintal, the two journalists have left Tanzania.
Both journalists were Tanzania on a reporting purpose for the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ)
