Louis Smith has announced his retirement from gymnastics at the age of 29.
The Briton became Britain’s first individual Olympic gymnastics medallist for 100 years at the 2008 Beijing Olympics when he won the bronze medal on the pommel horse.
He followed that feat up with a silver medal on the pommel horse at the London 2012 Olympics as well as the Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
At a wedding in 2016, Smith was pictured mocking Islam, he was banned for two months by British Gymnastics.
Smith, who was crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing in 2012 is set to appear in Rip It Up, a West End musical.
In his career as a gymnast, Smith won four Olympic medals, five World Championship medals, four at Commonwealth Games and seven at the European Championships.
